Sindh Rescue and Aga Khan Agency Conduct 2-Day Simulation Exercise for Disaster Management

Sindh Rescue 1122, in collaboration with the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, successfully conducted a two-day simulation exercise to prepare for urban disasters. Under the direction of Minister for Rehabilitation Makhdoom Mehboob Zaman, this training took place during the current monsoon season and aims to enhance response capabilities in the province’s vulnerable urban centers.

This comprehensive exercise brought together various emergency response organizations, including the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, PDMA Sindh, CERT, and DART volunteers. Prior to the exercise, a joint coordination meeting was held at Rescue 1122’s Karachi headquarters to align safety protocols, communication, and operational duties.

The simulation focused on a collapsed structure scenario, providing a practical test of urban disaster response. Participants practiced rescue procedures, first aid provision, and efficient evacuation-crucial skills for minimizing casualties and damage during real emergencies.
