Students showcased their talent and patriotism at a vibrant Independence Day ceremony organized by the Punjab Council of the Arts (PUCAR), Rawalpindi, in partnership with APPSMA.
The event, themed “Marka-e-Haq – By Our Brave Armed Forces,” featured a flag hoisting, cake cutting, speeches, patriotic songs (Milli Naghmay), and a tableau competition. Shazia Rizwan, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture, Government of Punjab, graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented awards to the winning students. She commended the young participants for their enthusiastic displays of national pride and their moving performances.
Prizes were given to the top three performers and runners-up in three distinct segments: speeches, national songs, and tableau. Peak School, Rawalpindi, secured first place in the speech competition, followed by Brightland School in second and Sir Syed School in third. Bright School was the runner-up.
In the national song competition, Naeem Islamia School emerged victorious, with Brightland School and Saint Mary”s School taking second and third place, respectively. Al Farooq School received the runner-up award.
Sir Syed School won the tableau competition, while Naeem Islamia School and Brightland School secured second and third positions, respectively. Falcon School was named the runner-up in this category.
APPSMA President, Mr. Ibrar, extended his gratitude to the participating educational institutions and the Arts Council administration. Muhammad Shakoor, Director of PUCAR, Rawalpindi, thanked all the attendees and highlighted the significance of involving youngsters in national festivities to nurture patriotism and cultural awareness. The event concluded with prayers for a flourishing Pakistan.
