After a tough competition held for Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas Division, eight promising tennis players, including four men and four women, have qualified for the final selection trials of the National Games, which will be held in Karachi.

The regional qualifiers were held at Public School Hyderabad, with 28 aspiring athletes participating. The event featured 17 female and 11 male players from various districts, including Hyderabad, Thatta, Tando Allahyar, Dadu, Jamshoro, Kotri, and Mirpurkhas.

After a day of intense competitions, the selection committee announced the names of the successful players for the next stage. The selected male players include Muzammil Bhand, Shiraz Bhand, Nadir Bachani, and Asif Bachani. The successful female players include Sonia, Durga, Jamna, and Pooja.

These eight selected players have been formally invited to the final trials on October 14 at the Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana in Karachi, where they will compete for a place in the National Games squad.

The selection event was supervised by Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, Senior Vice President of the Sindh Tennis Association. In his remarks, Rehmani thanked the principal of Public School Hyderabad, Mr. Iqbal Memon, for providing the venue.

He also praised the efforts of the organizing committee, which included Shabbir Gul, Muhammad Rehan, and Sarwat Ashraf. Rehmani particularly praised the hard work of Shabbir Gul, Senior Vice President of the Hyderabad Tennis Association, and commended him for conducting the trials in a professional manner.

The chief guest of the opening ceremony was Mr. Iqbal Memon. The trials were also observed by prominent figures of the local tennis community, including the President of the Hyderabad Tennis Association, Javed Riyar, Rafi Darbari, and Dr. Khalid Usmani.
