The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast today that hot and humid weather will persist in different regions of the country. Particularly in southeastern Sindh, northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain with partly cloudy skies.
The temperatures recorded in major cities this morning indicated the intensity of the heat. The temperature in Islamabad remained at 25 degrees Celsius, while both Lahore and Karachi recorded 30 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Peshawar was 28 degrees Celsius, while it was slightly cooler in Quetta at 24 degrees Celsius.
Muzaffarabad recorded 23 degrees Celsius at the start of the day, while the northern city of Gilgit recorded a morning temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the hill station of Murree provided some relief from the heat where the temperature was a cool 15 degrees Celsius.
