Diplomatic Affairs – Landmark Gaza Peace Plan Hailed as End to ‘Genocidal Chapter’

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today declared the signing of a landmark Gaza peace plan as the closing of a ‘genocidal chapter,’ calling the accord a crucial step towards achieving lasting stability in the Middle East.

The Prime Minister made the remarks in a social media post on X upon his arrival in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, where he is scheduled to attend the official signing ceremony for the historic agreement.

Sharif expressed his gratitude to the co-hosts of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, for their roles in orchestrating the deal.

In his statement, the Prime Minister specifically credited the American leader, stating that the international community would not have seen this moment without President Donald Trump”s “outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment.” He emphasized that it took Trump”s “single minded pursuit of peace to end the needless killing and destruction.”

Reaffirming Pakistan”s long-standing position, Sharif asserted that the “brave and resilient Palestinian people deserve to live in a free Palestine, with pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al Sharif as their capital city.” He stressed that the international community must ensure such a devastating conflict is never repeated.
