Organizers of the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) have set an October 30 deadline for member states to confirm their attendance, a critical announcement made as the Russian Federation officially affirmed its participation in the high-profile global gathering.
A senior Russian delegation met with Pakistani officials on Tuesday to review final preparations for the international summit. The Russian team, which included Head of the Political Station Mr. Anton Berniakovich and Mr. Anton Verschagin, held discussions with Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan and Ambassador to the ISC.
The session in Islamabad focused on the logistical framework for the event, covering the comprehensive program, hospitality protocols, and security arrangements. Ms. Khar assured the dignitaries that all preparations were being executed in strict accordance with international diplomatic standards to ensure a successful and well-coordinated conference.
During the engagement, it was formally announced that Russia will be represented by delegates from both of its parliamentary houses. Ms. Khar acknowledged Russia’s commitment, stating, ‘Russia is a valued member state, and we look forward to strengthening our inter-parliamentary ties through continued cooperation and mutual engagement.’
With the final date for confirmations now established, the full scope of global parliamentary representation will soon become clear. ‘Once confirmations are finalized, we will have a clearer picture of the international parliamentary representation,’ Ms. Khar stated.
The forthcoming conference, which has already attracted significant global attention, is set to address major contemporary issues. Key themes for discussion will include faith, interfaith harmony, and the universal challenge of climate change, aiming to foster dialogue and collaboration among parliaments worldwide.
