Romania Seeks Pakistan Air Force’s Combat Expertise in Push for Deeper Military Ties

Romania has expressed a keen interest in benefiting from the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) extensive operational experience and its remarkable combat record, a development that came during a high-level meeting focused on forging deeper military-to-military cooperation between the two nations.

According to a report today, the emphasis on enhanced collaboration occurred during an official visit to Romania by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, who met with the Romanian Chief of Defence, General Gheorgita Vlad.

During the engagement, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu stated that Pakistan values its strong diplomatic and defence ties with Romania, which are founded on a convergence of views on important issues related to regional peace and security. He reiterated a firm commitment to strengthening this bilateral military partnership to face shared challenges.

The Air Chief reaffirmed the PAF”s resolve to further deepen this association by exploring new avenues of collaboration and operational synergy for mutual professional advancement.

The Romanian State Secretary of Defence commended the Pakistan Air Force for its operational excellence. Similarly, the Romanian Chief of Defence lauded the professionalism and capabilities of the PAF, conveying a strong desire to bolster bilateral cooperation through enhanced interoperability.

Bucharest is seeking to establish joint exercises, training exchanges, and professional development programs designed to foster a long-term strategic collaboration between the armed forces of both countries.

The visit by the Chief of the Air Staff to Romania marks a significant step toward fortifying defence relations. It also underscores the mutual resolve of both nations to work together in addressing emerging security challenges through sustained engagement and partnership.
