A floodlight night cricket tournament was held in Tando Bago between 18 teams of the Hyderabad Division on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
Javed Chandio Cricket Club Jamshoro secured a thrilling victory against MGM Cricket Club Tando Bago in the final of the Malik Lal Muhammad Floodlight Night Cricket Tournament.
This championship match, in which 18 teams from Hyderabad Division participated, was held at the cricket ground of Mir Ghulam Muhammad Talpur Higher Secondary School. Batting first, the Jamshoro team set a target of 155 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Abbasi’s decisive hitting in the final moments secured the win for his team, and he was awarded the “Man of the Match” title for his outstanding performance with both bat and ball.
Other outstanding performers in the competition were also honored. The Best Batsman award was given to Nehal Qureshi, while Jamshoro’s captain Kamran Kami was declared the Best Bowler of the tournament. Several other players who performed excellently throughout the series were also awarded cash prizes.
The high-profile final was attended by several distinguished guests, with Badin MPA Haji Taj Muhammad Mallah and Pakistan Peoples Party District Badin General Secretary Dr. Sajjad Ali Chandio as the chief guests.
The event was also attended by Badin Press Club President Shaukat Memon, National Bank Manager and former cricketer Qazi Sikandar Azam, and several other local dignitaries. Organizers Malik Muzammil and Khalid Rustamani Baloch presented traditional Sindhi Ajraks to the guests. The event was attended by hundreds of citizens, journalists, and a large number of cricket enthusiasts.
