The sixth iteration of the premier science olympiad, SCICON 6.0, commenced today, bringing together approximately 450 students from more than 25 educational institutions for a two-day intellectual contest aimed at celebrating scientific talent and ingenuity.
According to a report today, participants will engage in a series of challenges designed to evaluate their scientific knowledge and practical application abilities. The event’s agenda includes diverse modules such as Decryptica, Kinetic Cascade, Market Mayhem, and Silent Testimony, each structured to assess innovative thinking in various scientific contexts.
According to Ms. Tabinda Raza, Principal of the host institution, Beaconhouse Jubilee Campus, the event serves as a vital platform for young minds. “We are thrilled to host SCICON 6.0, a platform that celebrates innovation, creativity, and scientific inquiry,” she stated, noting the tireless efforts of students in organizing the function.
The olympiad has attracted widespread interest from across the city. Notable private institutions including Beaconhouse PECHS campus, Defence and Discovery centre, KGS, Nixor, Cedar, and Indus school are among the attendees. The participation of various government schools and colleges underscores the inclusive nature of the competition.
Ms. Humera Khalid, Headmistress of the O-Levels section at the host campus, expressed her positive outlook on the proceedings. “I am confident that SCICON 6.0 will be a grand success, with students showcasing their exceptional talents and innovative ideas,” she said, extending a welcome to all guests and participants.
The two-day science fair is anticipated to provide a valuable experience for attendees, offering a blend of competitive events, interactive sessions, and opportunities for networking among peers and industry experts.
