The Rector of the National Textile University (NTU), Prof. Dr. Rashid Masood, today underscored that athletic activities are instrumental in cultivating a competitive spirit among students, an attribute he described as beneficial in every walk of life for achieving steady progress through perseverance.
His remarks were delivered at the opening ceremony of the Annual Sports Gala of the Faisalabad Business School (FBS), held at the university campus. Prof. Dr. Masood officially inaugurated the gala by performing the opening serve on the badminton court.
The rector further added that such sporting competitions are essential for developing sportsmanship, fostering teamwork, and improving the physical fitness of the student body.
Several prominent university officials attended the inauguration, including Dr. Sajjad Ahmed Baig (Dean FBS), Dr. Muhammad Hashim (Associate Professor), and Dr. Muhammad Shehzad Iqbal (Assistant Professor).
Also present were Dr. Usman (Assistant Professor), Dr. Naveed Iqbal (Lecturer, Sports Coordinator), Mr. Waqar Ahmad (Convener Sports Committee), Mr. Imran Ali Gil (Sports Officer), and Sardar Parvez Akhtar (Sports Officer).
