In view of the Christian community’s worship services, Punjab Police has been put on high alert to ensure the security of churches across the province.
Inspector General (IG) of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, on Sunday issued instructions to the Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to further tighten the security arrangements at all Christian places of worship.
Under a strict security protocol, law enforcement agencies will continue search and sweep operations in the vicinity of churches, Christian localities, and other sensitive places.
Officers and personnel deployed at these locations have been instructed to remain extremely vigilant and keep a close watch on suspicious individuals or potential miscreants.
Furthermore, IG Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the role of community involvement, stating that religious scholars, members of the Christian community, and peace committees should work to promote interfaith harmony.
