On the second day of the 4th Khairpur National Junior Squash Championship on Sunday, the country’s top-ranking junior squash players demonstrated their superiority, and all seeded players secured their places in the quarterfinals after decisive victories.
The championship, held at the Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, is organized by the Sindh Squash Association, with Khairpur Sugar Mills as its main sponsor. A total prize money of eight lakh rupees has been set for the event.
In the Boys’ Under-19 division, KP’s Obaidullah grabbed attention with a decisive 3-0 win against Punjab’s Noman. Other players reaching the final eight include Syed Muhammad Ali Qasim (Punjab), Abdullah Arslan, Adnan Zaman (Sindh), Muhammad Umair Arif (PAF), Muhammad Zaman Khan (SNGPL), and Abdul Basit (Sindh), who defeated their respective opponents.
In the Girls’ Under-15 category, Sindh’s Damia Khan showed excellent performance, defeating Syeda Manal Ali 3-0. Joining her in the quarterfinals are KP’s Zoya Ali Naz and Sindh’s Wania Shahid. Other players who advanced decisively include Dua Nazakat (Sindh), Vaishnavi, Aiman Fatima, and Ayesha Shahid from Punjab. KP’s Sadia Zahoor Khan also easily secured her spot by defeating Sindh’s Anaya Shahid in a one-sided match.
In the Boys’ Under-13 category matches, Sindh’s Raheel Victor advanced by defeating Punjab’s Faizan Khan. Sindh’s Muhammad Saim moved forward after a tough match against Fazal-ur-Rehman. Other quarterfinalists include Ibrahim Ahmed (Punjab), Aziz Ali Naz (PAF), Ahmed Ali Naz (PAF), Muhammad Mustafa Ahmed (KP), and Muhammad Mustafa Khan (Punjab).
In the youngest group, Boys’ Under-9, several players qualified for the top-eight round. Successful players include Muhammad Aban, Muhammad Faiz Khan, Muhammad Hasnain, and Mursal Butt from Sindh, while those representing Punjab include Ehtisham Khan, Abdul Ahad, Muhammad bin Naseem, and Abdul Hadi.
