Public Rights Movement Circle Bakote’s negotiations with officials successful, three-day sit-in ends,

The negotiations of the Public Rights Movement Circle Bakote with the government were successful. This development came after the protesters signed a written agreement with government officials today. The resolution brought relief to thousands of commuters who were stranded on both sides of the Jhelum River during the prolonged protest.

This peaceful sit-in was organized by the Public Rights Movement under the banner of the Public Rights Circle Bakote Action Committee and the Youth Action Committee, which had successfully blocked the main highway.

The protesters’ demands centered on the restoration of funds and the commencement of work on several key infrastructure projects. These included the construction of the Kohala-Terch-Boi road, the Bakote-Nathia Gali road, and the Pattan Kalan-Palhair road, in addition to the reconstruction of schools and hospitals in the earthquake-affected area.

Further demands presented by the movement included the formal approval for the establishment of Tehsil Bakote and the construction of a major hospital in Kohala with federal funding.
