Expressing a collective resolve against the scourge of corruption, which officials warned “erodes the very foundations of society,” individuals from various segments of the community, including government officers, legal experts, and students, marched in Khairpur on Tuesday to mark International Anti-Corruption Day.

The walk was led by Deputy Director ACE Khairpur, Abdul Qadir Durrani, accompanied by Assistant Director ACE Jinsar Soomro, Inspector Kaleemullah Mahesar, Inspector Abdul Hameed Mughal, and TO Education Allah Bachayo Khas Kheli.

A large number of participants, comprising ACE staff, civil society representatives, lawyers, students, and citizens, carried banners and placards. They were inscribed with slogans promoting integrity, rule of law, and the eradication of corruption.

Addressing the participants at the conclusion of the walk, Deputy Director Abdul Qadir Durrani said, “This day provides us an opportunity to renew our pledge to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in our respective domains. This walk is not just a ritual but a declaration of our collective resolve against corruption.”

He further affirmed that the ACE is committed to fulfilling its legal and moral responsibilities against all forms of corruption with utmost integrity, terming public cooperation in this regard as “indispensable.”

The initiative was lauded by local residents and social activists, who said that such activities are crucial for raising public awareness and strengthening trust between institutions and the public.
