On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, a rally was taken out by the district administration Thatta on Tuesday, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Ghulam Dastagir Shaikh and Incharge Deputy Director Anti-Corruption Ahmed Ali Memon.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers, including Assistant Commissioner Thatta Shakir Faheem and Additional Director Social Welfare Khuda Bux Bahrani, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Ghulam Dastagir Shaikh said that corruption is like a canker, and every individual must play their part to eradicate its roots. He emphasized that a society free from this curse is the secret to the nation’s progress.
Officials described corruption as a social injustice punishable in both this world and the hereafter, and appealed to every citizen to play their part in its elimination. They stressed the collective responsibility to provide a bribery-free society for future generations, stating that the progress of developed nations is largely due to their success in eradicating corruption.
The rally was attended by a large number of people from various walks of life. The participants included officers and staff from the Revenue, Education, Information, and Social Welfare departments, journalists, teachers, students, and representatives of various social organizations.
