Provincial Minister Ismail Rahoo’s open court in Mirpurkhas, citizens pile up complaints

Citizens lodged a mountain of serious complaints at an open court held by Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, which included issues like the open sale of narcotics, supply of counterfeit medicines, and the absence of a CT scan machine at the Civil Hospital.

During this public forum held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, complaints were also heard regarding the non-functionality of rural health centers, presenting a clear picture of the health challenges in the region.

Provincial Minister Ismail Rahoo stated that this series of open courts has been initiated across Sindh on the special directives of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. He stressed that its purpose is to directly learn about and resolve public issues at every possible level.

During the meeting, residents also expressed several other significant concerns. These included allegations of fake land documents being created by the Revenue Department, unfair detection bills by HESCO, low Sui gas pressure, and widespread encroachments in the city.

Further complaints also targeted the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for unnecessary harassment in the issuance of National Identity Cards and the University of Mirpurkhas for allegedly overlooking local candidates in the recruitment process.

In his address, the minister described the open court as a significant step towards fulfilling the promises made in the Peoples Party’s election manifesto. He highlighted the Sindh government’s work on development projects in the roads sector and mentioned that the number of public universities has increased from 16 to 20 since 2008.

Later, speaking to the media, Rahoo reiterated that education and health are the top priorities of the Pakistan Peoples Party and the current issues are being resolved. On a question about the lack of furniture in schools, he confirmed that the Sindh government is making every possible effort to address this issue.

Mayor Abdul Rauf Ghori, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rashid Masood Khan, SSP Mirpurkhas Dr. Sameer Noor Channa, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mirpurkhas Dr. Muhammad Rafique Memon, along with other political leaders and department heads, were present on the occasion.
