Complete digitization of Sindh Social Security, plans for a biometric system for staff

The Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (SESSI) is being completely digitized, with plans to establish a biometric system to manage employee attendance and salary disbursements.

This development came to light during a consultative meeting held by the institution with representatives from various labor organizations. The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination with labor representatives and provide awareness about the medical and financial benefits available to secured workers and their dependents.

The institution also used the forum to gather suggestions from labor representatives for improving SESSI’s facilities and services.

The meeting was chaired by Commissioner SESSI Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro. He was accompanied by Vice Commissioner Sikandar Baloch, Medical Advisor Saadat Memon, Director Contribution and Benefit Dr. Ghulam Dastgir, Deputy Director Waseem Jamal, Director Engineering Waseem Ahmed, Chief Medical Officer Health Dr. Parvez Soomro, and Director IT Hamid Ali, among other key officials.

Speaking on the initiative, Habibuddin Junaidi from the labor organizations called the meeting a welcome step and suggested that other institutions of the labor department should also organize similar programs.

The proceedings of the consultative meeting began with a briefing on Sindh Social Security given by Director C and B Dr. Ghulam Dastgir.
