On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, 49 Christian families in Jhang provided with financial aid before Christmas

On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the district administration has distributed aid cheques worth Rs. 7 lakh 35 thousand among 49 Christian households under a financial assistance program on the occasion of the Christmas festival.

A formal ceremony for the distribution of the cheques was held on Monday, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhindar. Bhindar and Additional Deputy Commissioner General Aamir Mehmood, who were present on the occasion, personally handed over the cheques to the deserving families.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Bhindar said that the provincial government is ensuring the welfare of all minority communities. He stated that, as per the Chief Minister’s directives, concrete steps are being taken to protect the rights of minorities and provide them with financial assistance.

He further assured that the district administration will continue its support to resolve the problems faced by the minority population and to share in their joys.

Representatives of the Christian community appreciated the aid provided by the Punjab government and the local administration and thanked them for their cooperation.

During the ceremony, the commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and brotherhood was also reiterated.
