Tessori Opens four-day Aalmi Urdu Conference in Karachi

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori on Thursday declared 2025 a “year of victory,” stating that Pakistan defeated a major powerful country through a strategy devised by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the nation”s armed forces, and public unity.

The governor made these statements while inaugurating the 18th four-day Aalmi Urdu Conference at the Arts Council of Pakistan, where he was the chief guest.

He pointed to global acknowledgment of Pakistan’s defence and economic accomplishments, highlighting the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as an indicator of financial progress.

During his address, Tessori lauded Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah and all members for organising the successful event. He described the venue as the ‘soul of Karachi’ and commended the services of its leadership.

The governor described Urdu as a vital language of communication with importance extending to many other countries. He also underscored the significant role that art, literature, writers, and poets play in shaping society.

Stressing that the future of the nation”s youth is a shared responsibility, he called for the utilisation of national talent for the country”s service.

He concluded by urging participants to eliminate negativity, hatred, and jealousy, and to adopt in their lives the practical example of harmony and tolerance demonstrated at the Arts Council.
