IGP inaugurates Traffic Helpline 1915, SSP Traffic South Complex

Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon on Sunday inaugurated a digitised Traffic Helpline, 1915, aimed at providing residents with immediate guidance on traffic matters and a streamlined process for complaint redressal, particularly concerning electronic challans.

During the same day, the IG also unveiled the new SSP Traffic South Complex, established at Artillery Maidan. The helpline has been set up at the Central Police Office in Karachi.

The inauguration ceremonies were attended by high-ranking officials, including the Additional IG Karachi, DIGs for Traffic and Training, and SSPs for Traffic South, AVLC, and PDIT.

The DIG Traffic Karachi provided a briefing on the new initiatives, confirming that the 1915 service has been fully digitised. He added that the public can now conveniently obtain information about their e-challans from home using the helpline number.

In his remarks, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon stated that offices equipped with contemporary facilities play an effective role in improving the performance of the traffic police. He said that facilitation centres had been instrumental since the introduction of the e-challan system.

The IG described the new helpline as a modern facility that would significantly strengthen communication between citizens and the traffic police. He said that modern helplines were crucial for reinforcing the public service delivery system.

To ensure continuous public access, the IG Sindh directed that the Traffic Helpline 1915 should be kept operational 24 hours a day.

Concluding his address, Mr Memon remarked that traffic discipline, public guidance, and citizen facilitation are among the foremost priorities of the Sindh Police.
