Shah Abdul Latif University releases 28th issue of its Urdu research journal ‘Almas’ online

Shah Abdul Latif University has revived its Urdu research journal “Almas” by releasing its 28th issue online today, restoring its status as a significant publication in digital Urdu scholarship.

Published under the auspices of the university’s Urdu department, the journal is Pakistan’s first online Urdu research magazine.

“Almas” has always been highly regarded in academic and literary circles for its high-quality research and critical studies.

Its recent revival is credited to the efforts and supervision of the university’s Vice-Chancellor and the journal’s founding editor, Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk. His leadership has restored the annual continuity of this publication after a hiatus.

The university’s spokesperson described this digital publication as “a new era of academic commitment to the Urdu language in the modern age” and added that the support of the institution’s national and international advisory board contributed to this success.

Assistant Professor of the Urdu Department, Dr. Syed Tariq Hussain Rizvi, supervised the editing of the latest issue as its editor. Dr. Rizvi stated that a balance has been struck between the journal’s traditional prestige and contemporary research demands to serve modern researchers.

The online revival of “Almas” is expected to further enhance the university’s reputation in Urdu research and provide a dynamic international platform for literary and critical scholarly work.

Dedicated to Urdu language, literature, and critical theories, the journal has been an important forum for academic discussions and has played a key role in connecting traditional scholarly research with digital academic practices since its inception.
