Double-Decker Buses Deployed in Bid to Modernise Urban Transport

In a significant move to upgrade the city’s public transport network, a new double-decker bus service has been inaugurated, an initiative hailed by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah as a “special gift” to residents.

In a statement released from the CM House on Wednesday, the chief minister congratulated the populace on the commencement of the innovative service, emphasising that citizens deserve superior travel facilities and reaffirming his administration”s commitment to enhancing daily commutes.

Syed Murad Ali Shah described the initiative as a “welcome development,” stating that the new fleet would make travel more straightforward and efficient. “Karachi is not just running; it is moving forward,” he declared, adding a forward-looking sentiment: “Today the bus has started; tomorrow the city will change.”

The new double-decker buses are reportedly equipped with state-of-the-art features and are intended to alleviate traffic congestion by offering an affordable and dependable alternative for commuters. The chief minister stressed the wider implications, noting, “When civic facilities are strengthened, cities become strong.”

He asserted that improved transportation is now a “practical reality” rather than a mere promise, with contemporary transport options symbolising urban dignity and convenience. The chief minister pledged that such projects are designed to elevate the metropolis to the status of a modern global city.
