Rain and drizzle in Rawalpindi, additional personnel deployed at underpasses

The Rawalpindi Traffic Police has urged both citizens and its personnel to stay away from electrical installations due to the continuous rain and drizzle in the city, while full personnel have been deployed to regulate the flow of traffic.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam on Thursday ordered all supervisory officers to be actively present in the field to monitor operations during the adverse weather conditions.

Mr. Aslam ordered the deployment of additional personnel, especially in underpasses where there is a risk of water accumulation, and stressed that wardens should be prominently visible while assisting the public during the bad weather.

To deal with and manage the potential problem of water accumulation, circle officers have been directed to maintain continuous contact with the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) administration.

Personnel have been instructed to immediately inform the concerned department in case of water accumulation anywhere and to provide immediate assistance to citizens upon receiving a call for help.

The CTO reiterated that all officers and staff are expected to work diligently to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on the city’s main highways.
