Sindh promotes 270 officers, including 43 police and 188 health professionals

The Sindh government has recommended the promotion of 270 officers across multiple key departments, including a significant number from the police and health sectors, following a high-level meeting of the Provincial Selection Board-II (PSB-II) on Friday.

The session, chaired by Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah, was convened to assess the cases of civil servants for advancement to higher grades. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Planning and Development Board, the Senior Member of the Board of Revenue, and other relevant secretaries.

During the proceedings, the board conducted a thorough examination of the service records, performance evaluations, and eligibility criteria of all candidates. After detailed deliberations, the PSB-II formally endorsed the promotions.

The health sector received the largest number of proposed advancements. Recommendations were made for 165 Medical Officers to be elevated to the position of Senior Medical Officer, while 23 Dental Officers were endorsed for promotion to the post of Senior Dental Surgeon.

In a significant move for law enforcement, the board approved the promotion of 43 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) in Grade 18.

The education sector also saw several recommendations, with 11 Professors from the Universities and Boards Department put forward for promotion to Grade 19. Similarly, 19 officers in the College Education Department were recommended for the post of Chief Librarian in Grade 19.

Additionally, the board reviewed cases from the Information Department, where one Deputy Director was recommended for elevation to Director in Grade 19. Six officers from the Social Welfare Department were also endorsed for advancement to the position of Director.
