Pakistan’s Envoy Urges US for Immediate High-Level Economic Dialogue

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has emphasised the urgent need to initiate a high-level economic dialogue with Washington to bolster bilateral relations.

According to an official information on Thursday, the call was made during a meeting between the Ambassador and Brian Mast, the Chairman of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Sheikh stressed the importance of a comprehensive and immediate dialogue focusing on key sectors such as energy, defence, minerals, information technology, and artificial intelligence.

He articulated that Pakistan, with its capacity for producing low-cost, high-quality goods, is well-positioned to meet the growing demands of the American market.

The envoy highlighted that surgical instruments and products manufactured in Pakistan are already renowned worldwide for their superior standard.

The Ambassador suggested that a favourable trade environment, coupled with due attention, would lead to a definite increase in exports of Pakistani textiles and other products to the United States.

Both representatives reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation in economic, security, and other strategic fields.
