Hakeem Saeed was a great patriot and philanthropist: Hamdard Youth Assembly

Speakers at the Hamdard Youth Assembly said that Hakeem Saeed was a great patriot and philanthropist. They urged the media and academicians to acquaint the new generation with the principles of national service and simplicity of the late philanthropist Hakeem Mohammed Said, stating that such qualities are praised in modern society but rarely practiced.

This was stated during a meeting of the Hamdard Naunehal Assembly at Hamdard Markaz on Thursday, where prominent personalities paid tribute to the life and work of Shaheed-e-Pakistan Hakeem Mohammed Said.

Addressing the assembly, Sadia Rashid, President of Hamdard Pakistan, described Hakeem Saeed as a great patriot and philanthropist whose existence was defined by his work. She said his simple life, contentment, and hard work are a rare example, teaching the valuable lesson of minimizing personal needs to focus on national service and human welfare over worldly comforts.

The chief guest of the event, Executive Director of the National Language Promotion Department Dr. Rashid Hameed, said that Hakeem Saeed spent his entire life in the service of humanity. Dr. Hameed highlighted that the life of the late physician demonstrates that simplicity fosters knowledge and wisdom, which can be utilized for national development. He pointed to the establishment of Hamdard, Hamdard University, and Bait-ul-Hikmah, saying this is proof that great things can be accomplished even with limited resources.

Ms. Rashid further stressed that simplicity should be seen not as a weakness but as a symbol of self-reliance and strength. She described Hakeem Saeed not only as a great physician and researcher but, above all, as a person of simple and unpretentious character.

Young participants also expressed their views on the topic, paying glorious tribute to the national figure. The event concluded with the screening of a documentary on Hakeem Saeed’s life and a prize distribution ceremony, where Sadia Rashid and Dr. Rashid Hameed, along with Program Director Syed Muhammad Arsalan and Arman Pir Niazi, awarded prizes to students for their outstanding performance.
