The Institute of Data Science at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore showcased a significant academic achievement with an exhibition featuring 483 projects from its students, underlining the institution”s focus on practical, industry-relevant skills.
According to the university information today, the event displayed a wide range of innovative and creative works from pupils in their first, second, and third semesters. The projects were designed to reflect the students” technical proficiency and their capacity to devise practical solutions for real-world challenges.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, attending as the Chief Guest, commended the diligent efforts of the students and faculty. He stressed the importance of a practice-oriented and industry-aligned curriculum, noting that such exhibitions are crucial for fostering students” creative and research abilities.
Prof. Dr. Munir reaffirmed the university”s dedication to advancing learning opportunities that are practical, research-driven, and pertinent to current industry needs.
A key feature of the event was the participation of industry professionals who served as external evaluators. They assessed the projects on their innovation, utility, and commercial viability, offering valuable feedback to the students.
The successful organisation of the exhibition was made possible through the leadership of Prof. Dr. Shazia Arshad, whose guidance was specially acknowledged. The contribution of Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science, was also highlighted as instrumental to the event”s success.
