Pakistan, China Launch Major Initiative to Equip 50,000 Youth with Future-Ready Skills

Pakistan has embarked on a significant five-year initiative to provide advanced vocational and digital skills training to 50,000 young people, following the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and TANG Chinese Education and Technology.

The agreement, which also aims to develop 2,000 master trainers, was formalised at a ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s Office. The event was witnessed by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), according to official information today.

Senior representatives from both sides attended the signing, including Li Jinsong, President and Founder of TANG Chinese Education and Technology Ltd., and Ms Xanib Abdul Rehman, a Section Officer for the PMYP, along with their respective delegations.

This collaboration signifies a shared dedication to empowering Pakistani youth by enhancing their employability through demand-driven skills relevant to the global market. The partnership seeks to advance the digital transformation of education and build sustainable institutional links between the two nations.

Under the framework of the LoI, the programme will introduce advanced training standards and joint certification mechanisms to improve the quality of technical education.

Training will concentrate on high-growth sectors such as artificial intelligence, fintech, e-commerce, digital technologies, media, and tourism. A strong emphasis will also be placed on promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The initiative further outlines the establishment of multiple smart digital training centres and aims to provide international exposure for participants through digital skills competitions, creating clear pathways to productive employment both within Pakistan and abroad.

The agreement marks a crucial advancement in bilateral cooperation on human capital development, reinforcing a mutual vision to prepare youth for future economic challenges and strengthen people-to-people connectivity.
