Pakistan Welcomes $10 Billion UAE Investment Commitment in High-Level Abu Dhabi Talks

The United Arab Emirates’ commitment to invest $10 billion in Pakistan was a central point of discussion during a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi, where Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani expressed appreciation for the UAE’s contributions to his nation’s economic stability.

The meeting with Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council, also reaffirmed the strengthening bilateral relationship between the two countries, according to an official report today.

During the discussions, both dignitaries acknowledged the significant progress made in recent years, particularly in enhancing trade, investment, and people-to-people connections. They reaffirmed the robust ties between Pakistan and the UAE, which they noted are anchored in shared values, mutual respect, and a long history of close collaboration.

Mr Gilani conveyed his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by his counterpart. In a gesture aimed at enhancing parliamentary diplomacy, he extended an official invitation to Speaker Ghobash to visit Pakistan.

The invitation was graciously accepted, with the UAE Speaker confirming his intention to visit in the near future. Mr Ghobash stated that the forthcoming visit would present a valuable opportunity to fortify parliamentary connections and investigate new avenues for bilateral cooperation.

The dialogue also covered a wide range of regional and global matters of mutual interest, with both leaders emphasising a shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.

The meeting underscored the dedication of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership in numerous fields, including parliamentary diplomacy and commerce.

The formal discussions, which concluded with a cordial lunch, served to further cement the cooperative bonds between the two nations, with both sides looking forward to continued collaboration.
