Fierce Winds and Rugged Terrain Hamper Efforts to Douse Mountain Fire

A significant blaze in the Jandaran mountain range continued to rage unabated on Monday, as firefighting endeavours entered their 30th hour, severely hampered by strong gales and the area”s challenging topography.

Divisional Forest Officer, Jan Muhammad Kakar, informed the media that despite the persistent efforts of the Balochistan Forest department, the fire has not been completely subdued. He noted that the difficult conditions are posing considerable challenges to the rescue operation.

Mr Kakar confirmed that personnel have achieved partial control over the inferno, but extinguishing it completely is expected to take additional time. He also acknowledged that the teams on the ground are operating with limited resources.

In a display of community spirit, local volunteers have joined the authorities, assisting the forest department personnel in their strenuous efforts to bring the widespread fire under control.
