Balochistan Police Adopts Five-Day Work Week Amid Austerity Measures

In response to governmental austerity measures, key departments of the Balochistan Police will now operate on a five-day work week, according to an official announcement. The Central Police Office, Crimes Branch, Special Branch, and the Police Training College Quetta, designated as essential law enforcement services, will conduct office matters from Monday to Friday, with Saturdays and Sundays now designated as official holidays.

In a separate development aimed at improving public engagement, the Central Police Office in Quetta has established a significant new facility for the redressal of citizen grievances, according to official report today.

Residents can now convey their complaints, issues, and suggestions directly to the Inspector General (IG) of Police for Balochistan via the WhatsApp number 03043470110. A toll-free line, 81-111775544, has also been made operational for registering concerns.

Furthermore, individuals from any location within the province can report their complaints at any time by calling 9203526, 9203528, or 9203527. Additional contact numbers-9203377, 9204081, 9204180, and 9204094-are also displayed outside all police stations for public use.

This initiative is intended to enhance transparency, bolster confidence between law enforcement and the populace, and provide an unobstructed channel for citizens to resolve legitimate complaints. Directives have been issued to field officers to inform residents about this service and to ensure its publicity through public convenience centres and at the local level.
