Pakistan Pledges Uninterrupted Fuel Supply Amid Global Market Volatility

The government today reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation”s energy security, assuring the public of a stable domestic fuel supply despite significant volatility in international markets and challenging regional dynamics. The pledge was made during a high-level committee meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

The Committee to Monitor Petrol Prices was briefed that the country currently possesses adequate fuel reserves, with diesel stocks providing approximately 24 days of cover and petrol inventories remaining at comfortable levels.

Officials stated that the domestic supply chain is being supported by continuous refinery operations and a steady stream of imports.

The Petroleum Division informed the committee that one crude oil cargo has arrived and is being discharged, while another vessel is expected to dock at Karachi harbour within hours.

To further reinforce national reserves, additional shipments remain in transit and import arrangements for March and April are being actively managed.

In anticipation of increased demand during the forthcoming Eid holidays and the ongoing harvesting season, the committee reviewed supply continuity plans. Oil Marketing Companies will maintain operational readiness to meet consumer needs.

It was reiterated that all fuel depots will remain functional in line with commercial requirements, and no disruption in fuel availability is anticipated during this period.

Speaking at the meeting, the Finance Minister emphasised the government”s resolve to maintain market stability and ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the petroleum supply chain in the face of evolving external challenges.
