The government today confirmed that arrangements will be made for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder to have a telephone conversation with his children on Eid, a senior minister announced. The declaration came in direct response to a social media post by Jemima Goldsmith.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, stated that the provision for an Eid Day phone call is consistent with past practices and will be facilitated accordingly.
The Information Minister also addressed the matter of a potential visit by the children, affirming they are welcome to travel to Pakistan.
He clarified that as Pakistani citizens holding National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), they do not require a visa for entry.
However, Mr Tarar underscored that should they visit, the children would be expected to fully comply with the laws of Pakistan during their stay.
