Thatta police, during coordinated operations across the district, have taken eight individuals into custody, including six alleged drug dealers and two gutka sellers, and recovered a large quantity of illicit liquor and banned tobacco products.
In a targeted operation on Tuesday, a team from Makli police station, led by SHO Sub-Inspector Allah Wasayo Nohri, raided a local distillery near Sheikh Aali. Authorities arrested a suspect named Muhammad Anwar Gandro and recovered 50 liters of homemade liquor from the premises.
Meanwhile, police from Thatta, Gharo, Sakro, and Jhimpir police stations conducted successful raids at various locations, arresting five other suspected drug dealers: Jan Muhammad Kaplo, Abdul Ghafoor Morjherio, Jameel Ahmed Samoon, Furqan Baloch, and Shafi Muhammad Jatt.
The widespread operations also targeted the sale of banned chewing tobacco, resulting in the arrests of Ghulam Mustafa Kumhar and Irfan Shah. In total, authorities recovered 80 bags of homemade liquor and 360 packets of Gutka/Mawa from the possession of the various suspects.
Separate cases have been registered against all the suspects at the respective police stations. These cases have been filed under the relevant sections of the Narcotics Ordinance and the Gutka Act.
