PPP Member of Sindh Assembly and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Minority Affairs, Dr. Sham Sundar Advani, on Monday inaugurated development schemes at the Hindu Shamshan Ghat here, reinforcing the provincial government’s commitment to improving facilities for religious minorities.

Speaking to the media at the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Advani said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always taken practical steps to protect the rights of minority groups and ensure their well-being. He affirmed that these development works aim to guarantee equal facilities for all citizens.

The PPP lawmaker said that there is a bond of sympathy and trust between the Hindu community and his party, which, according to him, has stood by the minorities in difficult times.

He added that under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the provincial administration is taking serious steps to resolve the issues faced by non-majority communities, and this series of development works will continue.

In response to a question, Dr. Advani also said that the Sindh government has always stood in support of journalists, and takes measures to provide redress if any member of the press is harmed.

The ceremony was attended by PPP minority leader Comrade Kako Ram, Assistant Engineer Kalimullah Dharejo, and Engineer Sanjay Raja, among other local personalities, city dignitaries, and a large number of the Hindu community.
