One suspect was killed and another was taken into custody following an armed encounter between law enforcement and alleged dacoits near Saadi Town on Sunday.
The incident began when a patrolling unit of the East Zone’s Sachal police station’s Shaheen Force responded to reports of a robbery from citizens. Upon the officers’ arrival, the suspects opened fire on the police vehicle.
Authorities returned fire. The exchange of fire concluded with one alleged dacoit being fatally wounded, while his accomplice was apprehended at the scene unharmed.
A spokesperson for the East police identified the deceased individual as Rehan Ali Bhutto and the arrested person as Islamuddin.
Following the confrontation, two illegal pistols with ammunition and a motorcycle were recovered from the suspects’ possession.
Police officials have confirmed that legal proceedings are being initiated in the matter, and the potential criminal records of the individuals are being reviewed.
