Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Syedaal Khan, has declared that widespread austerity measures are the ‘need of the hour’ to navigate the country’s pressing challenges, urging that the responsibility for fiscal prudence must extend beyond the government to every segment of society. This call to action came during a series of high-level discussions on the nation”s social, economic, and regional standing.
On Monday, the Deputy Chairman engaged with a diverse group of prominent individuals, including Member of Provincial Assembly Ali Hadi from Kurram district, former Caretaker Finance Minister Amjad Rasheed, and the Secretary of the Islamabad Club. The assembly also included social figures Nighat Khursheed and Faisal Kakar, alongside other public representatives.
Participants in the dialogue reached a consensus on the critical need for national unity, economic stability, and effective policymaking to address the current circumstances. The meetings involved detailed deliberations on the country”s overall socio-economic condition and the rapidly evolving regional dynamics.
