ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC), Pakistan's largest exploration and production company, is intensifying its efforts to enhance production from the Zin Gas Field, a challenging asset with untapped potential. The company is focusing on rapidly unlocking value from its stranded and low BTU gas resources.
According to Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, OGDC is working closely with the Government of Balochistan to utilize Zin's low BTU gas for industrial clusters and fertilizer projects. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to foster regional economic development by optimizing the use of indigenous energy resources that have been underused.
OGDC has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uch Power Limited to jointly evaluate the technical and commercial feasibility of utilizing Zin gas for power generation. This collaboration aims to develop innovative energy solutions in regions with limited access to conventional fuel supplies.
These strategic partnerships highlight OGDC's dedication to maximizing the potential of domestic hydrocarbon resources through targeted investments. The company's initiatives aim to bolster energy security, stimulate economic growth, and provide long-term value for Pakistan's energy sector.
