Pakistan Urges Halt to Israeli Violations Amidst Syria Recovery Push

Pakistan has strongly criticised ongoing Israeli infringements of Syria”s sovereignty, including unlawful incursions and occupation, asserting that such actions jeopardise stabilisation efforts and must be discontinued.

The nation further advocated for an inclusive, Syrian-led political process, coupled with enhanced international backing, to facilitate early recovery, reconstruction, and economic normalisation in the war-torn country, according to a report by MOIB today.

These pronouncements were articulated by Pakistan”s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during a United Nations Security Council briefing concerning the humanitarian and political situation prevailing in Syria.

Ambassador Ahmad stressed that achieving enduring peace necessitates a comprehensive strategy, firmly rooted in upholding Syria”s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

This approach, he added, must be underpinned by broad-based political advancement and bolstered by robust humanitarian and economic interventions.
