Jamaat-e-Islami failed to perform in its own administered towns, Deputy Mayor Karachi

Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad has severely criticized Jamaat-e-Islami, alleging that the party has failed to perform in its administered areas and consistently tries to obstruct or politicize development projects across the city.

Mr. Murad claimed today that criticizing other political parties to hide its own shortcomings is a long-standing tactic of Jamaat-e-Islami.

He highlighted the current poor conditions in the areas where Jamaat-e-Islami’s Town Chairmen hold office.

The Deputy Mayor further claimed that when Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) or the Sindh provincial government initiates projects in these Jamaat-e-Islami administered towns, the party immediately tries to take credit.

In these specific areas, citizens face a lack of basic facilities, while sanitation, drainage systems, and general development work are in disrepair.

Mr. Murad claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami neither undertakes any substantial work itself nor possesses the honesty to acknowledge development efforts made by other parties.

He particularly credited the Pakistan Peoples Party for playing an active role in Karachi’s development, suggesting that no other political group is genuinely engaged in construction efforts in the city.

The Deputy Mayor concluded that the citizens of Karachi are well aware of which parties are providing genuine services and which are merely engaged in political posturing. He advised the party to hold itself accountable before leveling accusations against others.
