Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, in a statement today, strongly condemned the deliberate targeting of peaceful civilians by the Afghan Taliban in the border areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling such acts unacceptable, aggressive and indicative of disrespect for human lives.
In a statement posted on his official X handle, Mr. Tarar asserted that resorting to assaults on civilian areas after suffering comprehensive defeats on the ground by Pakistan”s security forces, and lacking the courage to confront them directly, is not only despicable but also speaks volumes about the low moral character of the regime leaders.
The Information Minister cited a press statement from the Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, which revealed that in Bajaur District alone, nine civilians, including six innocent children and women, had lost their lives. Additionally, twelve individuals, among them seven women and one minor, sustained injuries due to unprovoked and criminal attacks on the civilian populace by the Afghan Taliban and their Indian-backed proxy, Fitna Al Khwarij.
Furthermore, Mr. Tarar highlighted another incident where three civilians playing cricket were unfortunately injured following a blatant and shameless quadcopter strike attributed to Fitna al Khwarij.
Attaullah Tarar also addressed the ongoing “frivolous false allegations” from the Afghan Taliban regime”s representatives, who continue to claim that Pakistan deliberately targets civilians. He clarified that Pakistan, with abundant evidence, exclusively targets terrorist infrastructure. Information regarding such operations against terrorist hideouts and support networks in areas controlled by the Afghan Taliban regime has always been promptly and transparently shared with the public, with utmost care taken to prevent any civilian harm.
The Information Minister affirmed that Pakistan”s campaign against “Kharji terrorists,” their sponsors, and abettors remains firmly rooted in truth, principles, honour, resolve, and faith. He concluded by stating that the “unholy fight” and ultimate demise of these “Kharjis and their Indian-backed abettors” are destined to be marked by shame, duplicity, greed, and evil.
