Functional League’s Sardar Abdul Rahim has issued a stern warning regarding the increasing inflationary pressure in Sindh, particularly highlighting a significant increase of up to 200 rupees on a 10-kilogram bag of flour. He claims that this dramatic increase is “snatching morsels from the mouths of the poor”, making it extremely difficult for the public to live a basic life.
The Functional League leader today expressed regret in a statement that for many citizens, obtaining two meals a day is rapidly becoming a dream. He criticized the provincial administration, saying that the government has “completely failed” in its responsibility to manage the economic situation.
Mr. Rahim accused hoarders and profiteers, saying that they are operating fearlessly while authorities remain “silent spectators”. He stressed the immediate need for strict measures to stop these illegal activities.
He emphasized that if immediate relief is not provided to the public, a widespread “public reaction” will become inevitable. Sardar Abdul Rahim urged the implementation of effective price controls, warning that if this is not done, citizens will be forced “to come onto the streets”.
