Twenty-two personnel from the detained Iranian container ship, “MV Touska”, have been safely brought to Pakistan, as the nation reiterates its dedication to promoting discussion and diplomacy for regional stability.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar disclosed this development today on the social media platform X, confirming the safe repatriation of the crew members. He stated that the individuals were transported to Pakistan last night and are scheduled for transfer to Iran today.
The Foreign Minister further announced that the Iranian merchant vessel is currently being moved back into Pakistani territorial waters. This manoeuvre is being undertaken to facilitate necessary repairs before its eventual return to its rightful owners.
Mr. Dar highlighted that these concerted efforts are being conducted in collaboration with both Iranian and American authorities. He emphasised that such measures represent a significant trust-building initiative between the involved parties.
Pakistan also expressed gratitude to the United States and Iran, affirming its continuous pledge to aid dialogue, diplomatic engagement, and mediation towards achieving broader peace and security in the region.
