Cement Dispatches Rise 11% Year-on-Year in April 2026, Driven by Domestic Demand

Lahore: Cement dispatches in April 2026 reached 3.89 million tons, marking an 11.2% year-on-year increase, primarily driven by a 20.2% rise in domestic volumes due to a low base effect. Exports, however, experienced an 18.2% decline, continuing a six-month trend of no exports from the North region. Month-on-month, dispatches increased by 3.9% following a recovery post-Ramadan.

According to JS Global, a 100 basis points policy rate hike is anticipated to notably impact the fiscal year 2027 earnings per share (EPS) for specific companies. Maple Leaf Cement Factory (MLCF) is expected to see a 3.5% drop in earnings from previous estimates, while D.G. Khan Cement Company (DGKC) may experience a 1.9% decrease. In contrast, Kohat Cement Company (KOHC), Lucky Cement (LUCK), and Cherat Cement Company (CHCC) are projected to benefit, with earnings increases of 1.5%, 1.4%, and 1.3%, respectively.

The report also highlights that the rate hike, along with recent cement price increases of Rs75 per bag in the North and Rs53 per bag in the South, could affect local dispatch growth in the future.
