Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi met a delegation of BMW Group and Dewan Motors at the Governor House today. The delegation was led by BMW Middle East Managing Director Mr. Karim Christian. Matters pertaining to vehicle manufacturing, assembling, modern automobile technology, investment, and the promotion of the local automobile industry in Pakistan came under detailed discussion during the meeting.
The Governor Sindh welcomed the promotion of a world-class automobile industry in Pakistan and said that the country offers a conducive environment for investment, particularly in the automobile sector which holds vast potential. He remarked that the launch of MINI brand vehicles in Pakistan is a positive development and that the arrival of internationally renowned brands equipped with modern features would further strengthen the automobile sector.
Governor Sindh stated that local manufacturing and assembling of vehicles would not only help reduce vehicle prices but also provide better facilities to consumers. He further said that the introduction of modern automobile brands and increased investment would create extensive employment opportunities and contribute to the growth of local industry.
The delegation expressed keen interest in promoting modern technology, the automobile industry, and technical cooperation in Pakistan. Discussions were also held regarding the strengthening of local industry, employment opportunities, and mutual collaboration.
