NATIONAL – Bangladeshi delegation leaves Pakistan after week-long visit

The week-long academic engagements of the high-level Bangladeshi academic delegation in Pakistan, led by Chairman University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh Prof Dr Mamun Ahmed, concluded today with a visit to the National University of Technology (NUTECH), Islamabad.

During the visit, the delegation explored opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation in higher education, applied research, innovation, and emerging technologies. The delegates were briefed on the university’s academic programmes, industry-driven education model, technological initiatives, and research ecosystem aimed at promoting innovation and skill development.

The delegation toured various academic and technical facilities of the university and held detailed discussions with university officials on avenues for future collaboration, including faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, academic partnerships, and cooperation in technical and vocational education.

Concluding their successful visit to Pakistan, the Bangladeshi delegation departed for Dhaka from Islamabad International Airport, where they were seen off by His Excellency Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, along with senior officials of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan.

On the occasion, Prof Dr Mamun Ahmed expressed his gratitude to HEC Pakistan and the host universities for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements made throughout the visit. He highly appreciated the opportunity to visit leading Pakistani universities and institutions, describing the engagements as highly productive and instrumental in strengthening academic ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The Chairman UGC Bangladesh reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing long-term cooperation between the higher education sectors of Pakistan and Bangladesh for the mutual benefit of students, researchers, and academic institutions.
