Sindh govt assails MQM-P leader’s remarks

Sindh Government Spokesperson Mustafa Baloch on Friday strongly reacted to the recent statement of MQM-P leader Anees Qaimkhani, stating that his remarks were misleading and reflect the political decline of MQM.

He said in a statement that before criticizing others, Qaimkhani should first account for his party’s performance in Karachi. Baloch stated that the people of Karachi were fully aware of MQM’s role in pushing the city towards violence and ethnic politics in the past. He further stated that MQM not only damaged law and order and public institutions but also used Karachi’s issues and resources for political gain.

Baloch stated that the people of Karachi were now politically mature and prefered performance over rhetoric and baseless allegations. He said that those who claimed to represent Karachi for decades should answer for their own record instead of blaming others.

The spokesperson said that the Pakistan Peoples Party had undertaken historic development initiatives in Karachi. He added that mega projects, including Shahrah-e-Bhutto, flyovers, underpasses, road infrastructure, and other development schemes, were evidence of PPP’s commitment to the progress and modernization of the city.

The Sindh government spokesperson further stated that the PPP government had played an effective role in improving peace and stability in Karachi, and that today the city was more peaceful, dynamic, and developed than before. Baloch concluded by saying that the people of Karachi had rejected the politics of hatred and confrontation and stood firmly with the politics of development, peace, and public service.
