President, PM shocked over army helicopter crash

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident of Mi-17 helicopter near Muzaffarabad.

In their separate statements, they expressed condolences with the families of the martyred officials. The President, in his statement, said the entire nation pays tribute to the great sacrifice of the martyrs and shares the grief of the families.

In his statement, the Prime Minister said the entire nation salutes to the sacrifices of its brave sons. He also prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and grant of patience to their families.

It may be noted that earlier today, an Mi-17 helicopter of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Muzaffarabad during take-off due to technical fault.

According to ISPR, all personnel on board embraced Shahadat. There were no survivors. Rescue and recovery teams immediately reached the crash site. A board of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact technical cause of the accident.
