In Okara, at a checkpoint, there was a severe exchange of fire today between law enforcement agencies and suspected criminals, resulting in one attacker being injured.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Ghulam Murtaza and his team were conducting routine checks when they signaled three suspects on two motorcycles to stop. Instead of stopping, the suspects fired at the police and attempted to flee.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Sadar Okara, along with additional officers, immediately responded and pursued the fleeing suspects. The chase ended near 27/2-L underpass, where the suspects continued firing at the police. The police, adhering to legal protocols and in self-defense, returned fire.
