A severe altercation between two local groups in Mohsin neighborhood of Naseerabad escalated to gunfire today, resulting in one person dead and four seriously injured. The conflict apparently started over a minor issue of sitting in a narrow alley, which turned into a violent clash that shook the community.
Five members of the Mohsin community, including Khadim Hussain, Shahid Ali, Adil, Ali Raza, and Muzammil, were seriously injured by gunfire. The injured were immediately transferred to the rural health center for initial treatment. However, due to the severity of their injuries, they were later moved to Larkana Hospital. Unfortunately, Buksel Mohsin’s young son Muzammil succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Following the incident, grieving family members protested, blocking traffic near Degree College on Indus Highway. They demanded justice and immediate action against those responsible, also refusing the post-mortem examination. The situation was temporarily eased when SHO Naseerabad, Fayaz Rao intervened, promising to conduct the post-mortem and arrest the accused, leading to the end of the protest.
To prevent further unrest, a large police presence was established in the city overnight. Authorities have reported the arrest of two to three suspects, although formal charges have yet to be filed. This incident highlights the dangerous nature of seemingly minor disputes and the urgent need for conflict resolution measures in the community environment.
